Biden: COVID-19 cases down in 49 of 50 states

United States President Joe Biden gave an update on Thursday on the nation's response to the COVID-19 crisis, marking an achievement of 250 million shots in 114 days. The evident results reflecting the fact that the cases are down in 49 of the 50 American states.

Biden shared that in less than 4 months, the US went from 5.5% of the vaccinated population to nearly 60% of adults with at least one shot in their arm. As a result of the vaccination program, CDC announced that vaccinated citizens are allowed to not wear a mask indoors. When asked, the president said the authorities will not be enforcing the new rules and won't be arresting unvaccinated people with no masks.

Citing media reports, President Biden said that hospitalizations are at the lowest point since April 2020, when the pandemic has just started. Fatalities are down by 80% and also stand at the lowest mark since last April.
