Biden disappointed by ruling on minimum wage - WH

United States President Joe Biden does not agree with a ruling in the Senate that stopped the Democrats' efforts to increase the federal minimum wage through the next phase of coronavirus relief, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki (pictured) revealed in a statement.

"President Biden is disappointed in this outcome, as he proposed having the $15 minimum wage as part of the American Rescue Plan," said Psaki, adding the head of state is prepared to work with congressional leaders to "determine the best path forward."

It was revealed earlier that the Senate parliamentarian ruled against a provision of the Biden-proposed $1.9 trillion COVID relief which would raise the minimum wage to $15, leaving the wage hike practically dead in the water as the only option remaining is for the increase to be obtained through regular order, for which 60 Senate votes are needed.
