Biden: Ginsburg's seat should remain empty until after election

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's successor should be selected after the November election has decided who the next head of state will be.

"The voters should pick the president, and the president should pick the justice for the Senate to consider," Biden said commenting on the news of Ginsburg's passing.

The upper house is already set to consider President Donald Trump's nominee, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced after the high court issued a statement revealing the justice had lost her battle with pancreatic cancer leaving a vacancy on the bench.
