Biden, Johnson to work towards Free Trade Agreement

United States President Joe Biden had a meeting with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the White House on Tuesday, during which both leaders agreed to "continue working towards a future full Free Trade Agreement," Downing Street stated.

Earlier media reports claimed that after Johnson failed to secure a standalone UK-US free trade deal, British officials might consider joining the existing US, Mexico and Canada (USMCA) partnership.

Biden and Johnson also underscored the importance of the recently formed alliance with Australia (AUKUS) in promoting peace and stability in the world. Additionally, the two leaders agreed that international recognition of the Taliban must be coordinated.
