Biden signs bill with $13.6B in aid for Ukraine

United States President Joe Biden signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act on Tuesday, which includes a "historic funding of $13.6 billion" to help Ukraine.

During his speech, Joe Biden stressed that this assistance will allow Ukraine to address the Russian military operation and the impact it has had on surrounding countries. "We're also going to be better positioned to provide for the rapidly growing humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people," he added.

During his speech, Biden also recalled that last year, the deficit fell for the first time since 2015, and this year it is on track to fall by more than $1 trillion. The bill provides a total of $1.5 trillion to cover federal spending until the end of the fiscal year.
