Biden signs series of orders reversing Trump's policies

United States President Joe Biden has inked 15 executive actions on his first day in office, some reversing the decisions made by his predecessor, former President Donald Trump.

The newly-appointed head of state has issued a national mask mandate in federal facilities to limit the spread of the virus and demanded the country rejoin the Paris Climate Accord as well as the World Health Organization. He also overturned Trump's so-called "Muslim ban," which he promised to do as soon as he takes office.

Among the directives was also one to halt the construction of the wall on the US-Mexico border, as well as a memo to preserve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), protecting those who were brought to the country illegally as children from being deported. Most of the other orders signed are aimed at changing the course of the coronavirus pandemic, rebuilding the nation's economy and combating the climate crisis, explained Biden.
