Bitcoin sinks 5% ahead of shutdown in South Korea

The world's two largest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ether, registered significant losses on Monday ahead of the planned suspension of nearly two-thirds of crypto exchanges in South Korea.

In previous crypto news, a report claimed that the United States government is set to introduce steps to stop ransomware attackers from using cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin declined by 5.04% to $44,861 at 3:48 am ET, while Ether lost 6.16% to $3,122 at the same time.
