Blinken: Israel has right to self-defense

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday that Washington will support Israel's "right to self-defense" after the country exchanged rocket attacks with Palestine.

Blinken called for rocket attacks from Gaza towards Israel to stop and urged "restraint" amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Earlier, Israel said that seven rockets were fired towards its territory from Gaza, injuring one person, while Palestinian authorities stated Israeli immediately launched retaliatory attacks, killing nine people, including three children.
