Blinken, Truss talks Russia and Ukraine

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss had a call earlier in the day about the options to "deter Russia from its troubling military build-up in and near Ukraine," the State Department said on Tuesday.

The two discussed their countries' efforts with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and their allies from Europe "to encourage Russia to de-escalate tensions and commit to a path of diplomacy." They also talked about "coordination to stand firmly against economic coercion" by China and Iran's return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The news comes after Blinken stated the US will not be imposing sanctions on Russia until its potential invasion of its neighbor. Earlier, the United Kingdom accused Moscow of trying to install a pro-Russian leader in Ukraine.
