Blinken: Won't force allies to choose between US and China

The United States won't demand from its allies to choose between Washington and Beijing, Secretary of State Antony Blinken (pictured) will say in a speech at North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters later today.

"The United States won't force allies into an 'us-or-them' choice with China," the official will state. "Countries can work with China where possible," the prepared remarks note.

The relationship between China and the US and its allies reached new lows recently after the Western countries jointly sanctioned Beijing officials for human rights abuses in Xinjiang. China denounced the measures, claiming the measures won't stop the Asian country from "moving forward."
