Boe's Mann: Credit conditions are part of rate decision
Member of the Bank of England's (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Catherine Mann said Wednesday that credit conditions are considered when making interest rate decisions. 'We look at credit conditions all the time," she said at the National Association for Business Economics meeting.
On the other hand, about the Bank of England's latest interest rate decision, she pointed out that it was "very clear" in which "way to go" when voting for a 25 bps rate hike." Furthermore, she emphasized that the banking meltdown was not an issue at this meeting.
Her comments align with Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey's remarks, who recently stated that he believes the recent commotion related to the collapse of certain banks is not "causing stress in the UK."
