BoE's Mann: Medium-term inflation expectations crucial
Bank of England's policymaker Catherine Mann (pictured) stated on Tuesday she considered medium-term inflation expectations to be one of the best indicators of how much more the institution will have to raise interest rates and when it can start cutting them.
"Looking at medium-term expectations is an essential ingredient to my assessment of what the appropriate Bank rate at the next vote might be," said Mann at an event.
The remarks come after the Bank of England raised interest rates to 3%, its most significant rise since 1989, as inflation hit a 41-year high in October.
