Boeing: 777 Partners buys 30 jets from 737 MAX class

The Boeing Company announced on Tuesday that the Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners purchased an additional 30 aircraft from its 737 MAX single-aisle class.

In a joint statement, the two firms explained that the purchase, worth approximately $3.7 billion, will widen the 777 Partners' 737 MAX portfolio to 68.

"We have long been confident in the economics of the 737 MAX family but we are especially excited about the 737-8-200 variant which represents the bulk of our additional orders. We're confident that this aircraft will be the hallmark ULCC/LCC asset, particularly in the sub-200 seat market," Josh Wander, a managing partner of 777 Partners, commented.

Boeing's shares jumped 1.24% to $208.25 at 9:41 am ET.
