Boeing CEO: Solving supply chain constraints still 'slow'

Boeing Co. CEO Dave Calhoun affirmed on Friday that solving the supply chain constraints is "frustratingly slow." However, the company has improved in certain aspects, such as engine forgings and castings.

According to Calhoun, meeting demand for new aircraft deliveries remains limited to "five years from now." This is the situation for Boeing and Airbus, Calhoun added at Bernstein's annual Strategic Decisions conference.

"We have to be smart about managing supply in the face of that pickup in demand," he said.
