Boeing gets $1.5B US defense contract, Pentagon says

The Boeing Company was awarded a $1.5 billion defense contract, United States Department of Defense stated. The contract includes upgrades of aircraft for the Navy, as well as foreign military sales clients. The Pentagon said that the deal is to ensure upgrades for F/A-18A/B, C/D, E/F and EA-18G aircraft.

Earlier this month, Boeing said it would not be delivering any aircraft to Iran as a result of the United States' decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions against Tehran. In April, the aircraft manufacturing giant its revenue for the first three months of the year amounted to $23.4 billion, rising 6% compared to the same quarter a year ago.
