BoJ's Kuroda: Economic uncertainty remains high

Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Haruhiko Kuroda (pictured) stressed on Thursday that risks for the Japanese economy and prices declined, but uncertainty for the economic outlook remained "quite high."

Speaking at a press conference following the central bank's decision to hold its interest rates, Kuroda said that measures used to support the economy through the coronavirus crisis were effective, underscoring the BoJ won't hesitate to further ease its monetary policy if needed in the future.

Though the strain in financial markets worldwide has eased somewhat, some "nervousness" is still present, he noted.
