Borrell talks Russia, Ukraine with Blinken, Stoltenberg

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell stated on Wednesday he discussed the Old Continent's security and the tensions between Russia and Ukraine with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office Poland.

"They discussed Russia’s military build-up around Ukraine as well as ongoing bilateral and international diplomatic engagements related to Russian attempts to re-define security arrangements in Europe," Borrell's office said in a statement. "They underlined their determination to continue intense consultations on identifying ways to solve the situation through bilateral and multilateral diplomatic engagement and by presenting a strong, clear and united transatlantic front."

Earlier in the day, Stoltenberg had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the possibility of Kiev taking part in NATO's forthcoming meeting in June.
