Brexit delay like playing with fire - Johnson

Great Britain's former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson stated on Monday that any move by Parliament to stop Brexit would be seen by voters as a betrayal by the "deep state."

Answering questions in a radio interview on what would happen if MPs try to vote down Prime Minister Theresa May's withdrawal agreement, Johnson said that complicated amendments and delaying tactics would be akin to "playing with fire."

"People will feel betrayed. People will feel there has been a great conspiracy by the deep state of the UK, the people who really run the country, to overturn the vote," Johnson said for the London Broadcasting Company. He also said that he believes that the "deal will go down."

"Britain will leave in March, absolutely, and that's the bottom line," Johnson concluded.
