Bullard says he wants to be Fed chair

Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis President James Bullard said on Friday that he would like to become the head of the United States Federal Reserve "one day."

Asked if he would like to join the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Bullard stated: "The Fed chair is of course something I’d love to do. I’ve been in the Fed all my life, all my professional career, and if I ever got that honor I would certainly take it. But I’ve noticed the phone has not been ringing off the hook to get that, and obviously it’s something the stars have to align for that to happen."

Current Fed Chair Jerome Powell's term expires in February 2022.
