Catalonia asks Spain to impose night-time curfew

The Catalonian government asked on Friday for a night-time curfew to be imposed by Spain, as a measure to curb the coronavirus spread; on the same day there was a new COVID-19 record, with 5,295 new cases.

The Catalan health minister, Alba Verges, made a clear comment on TV3: "We will limit mobility and put in force a curfew, or anything else that may be required."

This request came on the day that the presidents of the Spanish autonomous communities of Castilla y Leon and Valencia asked the country's Health Minister Salvador Illa to impose a night-time curfew to curb a further spread of the coronavirus, while Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated on Friday the real total number of infections from COVID-19 in the country exceeded 3 million.
