CDC strengthens booster recommendation over Omicron

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Monday it is strengthening its recommendation for all people over 18 to receive vaccine booster doses.

The CDC noted that those who were vaccinated with Pfizer's or Moderna's COVID-19 jabs should get their boosters six months after their first dose, while those who were inoculated with the Johnson & Johnson shot should get their two months after the initial shot.

The agency added it decided to update its recommendation as a result of the emergence of the Omicron variant.
