Changes for unvaccinated workers in Germany

Federal and state health authorities in Germany decided on Wednesday that, as of November 1, unvaccinated people will no longer be eligible for compensation for income loss if forced into quarantine.

Under current regulations, this would affect people who are confirmed positive cases as well as those returning from trips to "high risk" countries, such as the United Kingdom and parts of France at this point in time.

Critics allege that this practically amounts to forced vaccination as most people would be unable to afford unpaid leave from work. However, Health Minister Jens Spahn rejected this logic, questioning "why should others pay for the fact that someone has decided not to be vaccinated?"
