China consumer prices up 2.5% in June YoY

China's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.5% in June compared to the same time last year, according to a report by the country's National Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.

At the same time, the country’s producer price index (PPI) dropped by 3.0% on an annual basis.

Both changes were higher than expected.
