China's ICBM launchers number allegedly surpasses US
A United States military official has told Congress that China has more intercontinental-range missile launchers than the US, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
The commander of the US Strategic Command wrote in a letter to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees in January that the number of China's ICBM land-based fixed and mobile launchers "exceeds" the number of ICBM launchers in the US but stressed that Washington has more intercontinental-range, land-based missiles and more nuclear warheads mounted on those missiles than Beijing.
The report also cited American officials stating that the letter to Congress did not include submarine-launched missiles and long-range bombers, both of which the US has more than China.
