China 'shocked' by killing of Iranian scientist

China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying (pictured) said on Monday that Beijing was shocked by the shooting death of "renowned Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh."

Speaking in a press conference, she added that China condemns the killing, describing it as a "violent and criminal" act, as cited by the Global Times.

Beijing calls for an extensive investigation into the event, Hua stressed.
