China 'stealing' $300B in intellectual property - Trump

Announcing $16 billion in support for farmers on Thursday, United States President Donald Trump praised his trade policy towards China, saying that the economy is thriving, thanks in part to China paying 25% tariffs. He slammed China over its practice of "stealing" intellectual property, noting that the Asian nation takes "$300 billion a year" in intellectual property, although he could not specify whose estimation he quoted.

A lot of companies are moving out of China, he said. "It's a bad thing for China, we don't want that, but that's the way it works," Trump underlined. He pointed out that many firms are planning to move or start doing business in the US because "there are no tariffs to pay." "Our country must maintain a united front," he underscored, in order to achieve "maximum results" for citizens. "Very simple," the president concluded.
