China to scrap last Hong Kong travel measures

Chinese officials announced on Friday that all remaining COVID-19 measures restricting travel to Hong Kong and Macao will be removed on February 6. Currently, a quota system is in place, and vaccination and testing are mandatory.

However, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office said people who traveled overseas will have to undergo testing 48 hours before going to mainland China, according to South China Morning Post. Travelers will also be required to declare any symptoms at border checkpoints. Those exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will have to take a test and will be allowed to self-isolate at home.
