China urges airlines to limit intl travel due to COVID-19

China's Civil Aviation Administration urged airlines to limit international travel to and from the country in order to prevent a further spread of the coronavirus.

Domestic airlines were told to reduce routes to one per country, while both Chinese and foreign airlines were asked to limit international flights to or from China to once a week.

The COVID-19 outbreak started in China in late 2019 and has affected over 80,000 people in the country. However, the epicenter of the disease has since moved to Europe and the United States and almost all newly reported cases in China are imported from abroad.
