China's trade surplus widens to $45.53B in May

The Chinese trade surplus has expanded to $45.53 billion in May compared to last months' $42.85 billion, the country's General Administration of Customs said on Monday.

Despite marking an increase compared to the balance of trade seen in April, the May 2021 figure has increased less than expected.

The country's exports rose by 27.9% year-on-year, while the imports went slightly under the estimated figure despite surging by 51.1% on an annual basis.
