Colonna: Russia is enemy of global food security
French Foreign Affairs Minister Catherine Colonna said in a speech in front of the United Nations General Assembly that Russia is the "enemy" of global food security due to its suspension of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and attacks on Ukraine's agricultural facilities. "What we see here is the expression of pure brutality that would stoop to using any weapon, even hunger, to try to revive its imperialist illusions," she said.
"What is happening in Ukraine concerns all of us. If we allow our common principles to be trampled there, they will be trampled everywhere. If we let this aggression be rewarded, other instances will occur there or elsewhere," Colonna said, adding that France supports the efforts of the International Criminal Court to prosecute war crimes and will continue to support low-income countries affected by food shortages and rising prices caused by the war in Ukraine.
