Complete world denuclearization would be 'ideal' - Trump

United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday that nuclear weapons are the "biggest problem in the world" and that something has to be done on the issue. However, the US president acknowledged that he is aware denuclearization has to be a "slow process."

Trump noted it would be important to "substantially reduce" the amount of nuclear arms in the world, or "ideally" to completely "get rid of" them. During a joint press conference with United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump stated that he will raise the nuclear proliferation issue at his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and added that reaching any kind of deal on the matter would mark a "tremendous achievement."
