Consumer confidence in Japan rises in June

Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index increased in June when compared to the figure seen in May, rising by 4.4 points to land at 28.4, according to a report released on Wednesday by the country's Cabinet Office.

The overall livelihood index increased by 5.4 points to reach 30.4, while the income growth indicator added 3.6 points and ended at 31.4. The employment index rose by 4.1 points in the meantime to stand at 20.9, with the willingness to buy durable goods at 30.8, up by 4.5 points compared to the previous month's data.

The percentage of survey respondents who revealed they expect the prices to rise in the upcoming year increased by 2.1% in June, while 0.1 fewer percent of people claimed they see the prices dropping.
