COVID-19 curve hit 'a bit of plateau' - Fauci

White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci asserted on Thursday that the spread of the coronavirus in the country has somewhat slowed, adding that the infection rate has reached "a bit of a plateau."

In an interview with MSNBC, Fauci predicted that some sort of normality in the country in regard to the virus containment measures could be felt by the end of summer.

After showcasing a downward trend during the past four days, the number of coronavirus infections recorded in the US on a daily level rose to 64,682 in the past 24 hours. Since the pandemic started, the country has reported more than 518,000 deaths attributed to COVID.
