Crew of attacked tanker saw 'flying objects,' Iranian ship - operator

The Japanese ship operator of the Kokuka Courageous, one of the vessels attacked in the Gulf of Oman yesterday, said on Friday that his crew saw "flying objects" before the incident.

Earlier, the United States released a video allegedly taken after the attack on two oil tankers, which supposedly shows a boat belonging to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) removing an unexploded limpet mine from one of the tankers. However, president of the company which owns the attacked vessel, Yutaka Katada, explained he believes these "flying objects" could be bullets and called reports of the mine attack "false."

Additionally, Katada said crew members saw an Iranian ship nearby but did not specify whether it was before or after the attack.
