Crimea subject to 'unprecedented cyber attack'

Internet service providers in the partially-recognized Republic of Crimea were subjected to an "unprecedented cyberattack" and disruptions to the Internet were recorded, Oleg Kryuchkov, advisor to the Russian-instaled head of Crimea, said on his Telegram channel on Friday.

"An unprecedented cyber attack on Crimean Internet service providers. We record interruptions in the Internet on the peninsula. All services are working to eliminate the threat," he wrote.

Earlier today, the Russian-appointed region's head, Sergey Aksyonov, said that cruise missiles had attempted to strike Crimea but had been shot down by the anti-aircraft defense system.
