Delta's Q3 revenue at $9.2 billion

Delta Air Lines reported on Wednesday that its revenues for the third quarter of 2021 declined 27% when compared to the same period in 2019 to $9.2 billion.

For the same trimester, the carrier's net income dropped 19% from two years ago to land at $1.2 billion, but its operating income saw a biennial gain of 6% to $2.2 billion. Meanwhile, its diluted earnings per share went from $2.32 in 2019 to $1.89 in 2021.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian commented on the report: "Our September quarter marked an important milestone in our recovery, with our first quarterly profit since the start of the pandemic. While demand continues to improve, the recent rise in fuel prices will pressure our ability to remain profitable for the December quarter."

Delta's shares were down 0.90% in premarket trading following the release of the report.
