Denmark adds record daily corona cases of 36,474
Denmark registered a new record of coronavirus infections after cinemas, museums and other institutions reopened after a month-long lockdown. It was announced today that the country reached a number of 36,474 daily registered cases, marking a new peak since the start of the pandemic, as well as 16 corona-related fatalities within a 24-hour period.
Still, health authorities stated earlier this month that the currently-predominant Omicron variant is milder than initially believed and that around 29% of hospitalizations are due to reasons other than COVID-19.
In addition to that, Denmark has high support for coronavirus vaccination, with four out of five citizens having received two doses and just over half of the population with three.
