DoJ publishes report on Clinton email probe

United States Department of Justice (DoJ) released a report on Thursday on Hillary Clinton's email server investigation and the Bureau of Federal Investigation's (FBI's) actions during the probe. According to Inspector General Michael Horowitz, former FBI Director James Comey did nothing that indicates he was motivated by political ambitions or acted in any way to influence the 2016 presidential election.

However, the report does accuse Comey of deviating from the FBI norms, accusing him of "a serious lack of judgment" for his decision to inform the Congress about the bureau's intent to reopen Clinton investigation. The former FBI chief is also accused of insubordination against high ranking Justice Department officials.

The DoJ watchdog also stated that Comey used his personal Gmail account for his official bureau-related communication, calling the behaviors "inconsistent" with Justice Department's policy. Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch was also blamed for her "ambiguous" behavior during Clinton probe.
