DoJ to probe US attorney for N. Georgia's leaving - report

The Justice Department's Office of the Inspector General is set to launch an investigation into the sudden departure of Byung J. Pak, a former top federal prosecutor in the Northern District of Georgia, according to The Washington Post.

In a recording of a phone call that was recently made public, former President Donald Trump had asked Georgia officials to find over 11,000 votes in order to change the election result in the state.

The Trump-appointed attorney resigned after the call, in which he was criticized by the former head of state for condemning his efforts to overturn the election, and, according to the report, the resignation came in response to a request by a senior Justice Department official.
