Dow cuts gains, Nasdaq turns red premarket

Stock markets on Wall Street traded mixed ahead of Monday's session as investors carefully observed the latest developments surrounding the newly detected Omicron coronavirus strain.

Over the weekend, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky revealed the FDA was considering making the process of approving the Omicron-targeting COVID-19 vaccines faster and simpler as the changes about to be made compared to the greenlighted shots will be minor.

The Dow Jones advanced 0.31% at 6:01 am ET, while on the other hand, the S&P 500 traded unchanged, and the Nasdaq 100 decreased by 0.62%. The euro slipped 0.09% against the dollar to sell for 1.12986.
