Dow falls 150 pts premarket amid earnings

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.57% or approximately 150 points in Thursday's premarket trading as corporate earnings kept coming in. Earlier, Comcast Corp. announced a 17% annual increase in revenue, while United Parcel Service said its revenue was 0.5% higher in the first quarter of fiscal 2019. Meanwhile, 3M Co. reported a 5% decrease in revenue for the first quarter.

The Nasdaq 100 was 0.82% higher during premarket trading, boosted by Microsoft gains of 4.8% and Facebook's jump of 8.7%. Yesterday. Microsoft reached a $1 trillion market cap in extended trading following its earnings report that showed a 20% annual increase in the tech giant's earnings per share. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was flat, only 0.04% above the flat line premarket.

The euro fell 0.26% against the dollar, to sell for 1.1125 at 7:29 am ET.
