Dow falls over 400 points premarket amid pandemic worries

Stocks on major markets in the United States were lower in premarket trade on Monday with the Dow Jones falling 400 points amid rising pandemic worries. On Sunday, the US reported 32,186 new coronavirus cases and some European countries recorded a steady increase in COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, a leak revealed that the number of international banks did not stop potential money laundering after suspicious activity was reported to the US Financial Crimes Investigation Network.

The Dow Jones plunged by 1.50% or 416 points at 4:30 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 dipped 1.28% a minute later and the S&P 500 declined 1.35% at the same time, respectively.

The euro lost 0.22% at 4:29 am ET, selling for $1.18154.
