Dow jumps 200 pts on open as Trump says China asked for talks

Trading on Wall Street kicked off in the green on Monday as world leaders convened in Biarritz for the G7 summit. United States President Donald Trump said that China is ready to continue trade talks despite introducing retaliatory tariffs on American goods last week.

"China called last night our top trade people and said ‘let’s get back to the table’ so we will be getting back to the table and I think they want to do something," he stated on the sidelines of the G7 meeting.

The Dow Jones climbed 266 points in the first moments of trading led higher by Boeing and Apple. The S&P 500 gained 0.82% with television provider Dish Network as the top performer. The Nasdaq moved up 1.03% as Celgene Corporation surged over 3%. Meanwhile, the euro was down 0.22% against the dollar at 9:45 am ET, buying 1.11189.
