Dow, Nasdaq sink over 200 pts on weak jobs data

Wall Street turned to negative territory deep into Friday's session pulled by the underperforming November jobs figures, with nonfarm employment failing to meet market estimates by a wide margin. However, the November service sector activity accelerated its expansion and reached the highest value on record for the fifth time this year.

The Dow Jones lost 0.63% or 218 points at 10:53 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 plunged 1.74% or 273 points. The S&P 500 fell by 1.01% at the same time. Tech stocks pulled all three indices down. The euro turned to losses against the dollar, selling for 1.12786 a minute later.
