Dow plunges over 100 points ahead of session

Stocks on major markets in the United States traded mostly lower on Friday ahead of this week's last session, as the coronavirus pandemic continued to prompt uncertainty among investors.

Business news marked the day, as a report suggested the Justice Department is set to take legal action against Google LLC over antitrust violations. Furthermore, the Department requested a ban on Chinese messaging app WeChat from Apple and Google app stores. On the market side, Novavax Inc. surged 6% premarket after news that the company started the last stage of its COVID-19 vaccine trials.

The Dow Jones sank 0.43% or 115 points at 7:58 am ET, while the S&P 500 concurrently lost 0.31%. On the other hand, the Nasdaq 100 traded 0.18% in the green a minute later. The euro lost 0.35% against the dollar to sell for $1.16312.
