Dow sinks 100 pts premarket on virus worries

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded lower after having lingered around the flatline for the largest part of the morning on Thursday. Fears of the COVID-19 pandemic and the repercussions it may have on the United States economy took hold in the investors' minds as the number of infections recorded worldwide climbed to 19 million.

Meanwhile, the traders will also keep an eye on the report on the job cuts in the country, about to be released later in the day.

The Dow Jones dropped 0.32% or 87 points at 7:16 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.36%. At the same time, the S&P 500 dipped 0.33%. The euro slid 0.21% against the dollar, selling for $1.8386 at 7:19 am ET.
