Dow, S&P turn positive premarket ahead of Fed speeches

Major stock markets in the United States turned positive in the premarket on Tuesday ahead of the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors' Lael Brainard's speech and its chair Jerome Powell's testimony before the Congress. The traders remain watchful of the international response to the Hong Kong national security law, the social media ad boycott, as well as the new swine flu reported in China.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.05% or 13 points at 7:55 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.24% and the S&P 500 went up by 0.13%.

The euro declined by 0.39% against the dollar to sell for $1.11973 at 7:56 am ET.
