Dow surges 300 pts at open as rebound continues

Shares on the major stock market indices in the United States opened the session with sharp gains on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average flying over 300 points amid what seemed like a change of sentiment in regard to the nature of the threat posed by the coronavirus' Omicron variant.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen predicted that inflation will decrease to an acceptable measure once the pandemic has been brought under control. On the data front, the country's international trade deficit dropped 17.6% on a monthly basis and amounted to $67.1 billion in October.

The Dow Jones soared 0.97%, or 337 points, as the session started with Intel up by 5.47%. The Nasdaq 100 skyrocketed 1.85% at the same time with Pinduoduo jumping 12.52% a minute later. The S&P 500 concurrently rose by 1.25%. The euro plunged 0.38% versus the dollar, selling for 1.12403 at 9:32 am ET.
