Dow turns positive after tariffs delay announcement

Dow Jones Industrial Average turned positive after starting the trading session over 100 points in the red after the announcement that the Trump administration is delaying the new auto tariffs for the next six months. Washington pointed out that it is continuing the trade talks with the European Union and Japan.

Meanwhile, earlier reports indicated that the US and Canada are close to reaching a deal on the removal of steel and aluminum trade measures. The agreement could reportedly be announced even today.

The Dow was 0.15% in the green at 10:56 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.22% at 10:57 am ET, led by Applied Materials Inc. gains of 6.04%. The S&P 500 was 0.20% higher at 10:58 am ET. The euro fell 0.15% against the dollar, to change hands for 1.1157 at 10:58 am ET.
