Dow up 100 pts premarket amid vaccine optimism

Major stock markets on Wall Street were higher in premarket trade on Tuesday after reports said that the United States is preparing to start COVID-19 vaccine production before the end of the summer.

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Congress will discuss a new relief bill next week. However, tensions with China remained high as Beijing threatened to sanction Lockheed Martin and accused the US of trying to stir up conflict in the South China Sea.

The Dow increased 100 points and gained 0.38% at 4:22 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 was up 0.44% at 4:22 am ET and the S&P 500 traded 0.37% in the green at the same time. The euro was 0.06% in the red against the dollar, going for $1.13370 at 4:23 am ET.
